Donna passed away on July 5, 2026 at The Cottages at Chapel Creek in Frisco, TX where she was cared for the last 7 months of her life. She was preceded in life by her Mother Dorothy Pendel and daughter Tracy Ann Gamble who passed on February 7, 2002.
Donna was born on April 5, 1947 in Reading, PA. She and her brother were raised by her Mother in Reiffton, PA where she attended elementary school and Exeter High School. She was very active in sports and played Basketball, Tennis, Softball and Field Hockey.
Donna attended West Chester State Teachers College and graduated in 1969 with a degree in Physical Education and Health. It was during that time that she met her future husband Richard (Dick) Gamble as they were wed on July 3, 1971 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Morton, PA.
Her first job after graduation was as a Phys Ed and Health teacher at Chichester High School near Philadelphia. Her stay was short as when she wed, her husband had been transferred to Northern Virginia. Donna eventually taught Phd Ed, Health and Student Driving at Chantilly High School in Fairfax County, VA. She was the head coach of Girls Field Hockey and Track. She also held the position of Assistant Athletic Director.
Although her career in teaching was successful, Donna decided to turn her focus to having two children, Tracy Ann in 1978 and Patrick Daniel in 1981. She was devoted full time to them and their upbringing. Her sports continued through both of them with Soccer, Basketball, Softball and Tennis. It was during this time that Donna became a convert to the Catholic Church. In later years she was active in Stephens Ministry where she was a leader and trainer of new Care Givers. Donna and Dick also were among the first advocates of the St. Vincent de Paul Chapter at St Elizabeth Ann Seton when it was formed.
Donna enjoyed sports for many years playing Tennis and Golf. She enjoyed playing bridge and mah jong and going to lunch “with the girls”. Donna was a social person who was caring and compassionate. She loved everybody.
She is survived by her husband Dick and son Patrick as well as her brother Geoffrey.
