Carolyn June Silvy, 84, Calera, Oklahoma, formerly of Saint Joseph, MO, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026.  She was born September 6, 1941, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, to Alvin and Vivian (Burgess) Huffman. She grew up in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1960.  She married Dorrel Silvy Jr, September 15, 1962. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and raised their children there. They also lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Carolyn earned her Associate of Applied Science in Data Processing from Tarrant County Community College in 1977. She worked for Honeywell as a Cobalt programmer. 

Carolyn enjoyed traveling and hiking. She loved spending time with her family.  In early retirement, she enjoyed living in Branson, Missouri, attending Silver Dollar City and local shows.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Dorrel; children Pamela (Douglas) Alderman, Saint Joseph, Missouri; Denise (John) Gilbert, Allen, Texas; Rob (Jennifer) Silvy, Blue Springs, Missouri; grandchildren Renee, Erin, Douglas Jr, Amy, and Maggie; great-grandchildren Avery, Leila, Danny, Taryn, Matteus, and Caden. 

 

A Memorial service will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Plano, Texas, on Aug 22, 2026, at 11:00 am.
