"Yam Jam" on Oct. 14, 2017 - 61 volunteers made their way to Alba, TX to help "glean" sweet potatoes for food banks and food pantries in east and north Texas, as part of ongoing efforts organized by Helping Hands Gleaning Ministry - whose mission is to connect growers and suppliers of food with those in need!     We collected 8,400 pounds of sweet potatoes!!! Gleaning is biblical... "When you reap the harvest in your field and overlook a sheaf there, you shall not go back to get it; let it be fore the alien, the orphan or the widow, that the Lord, your God, may bless you in all your undertakings."   Deuteronomy 24:19 Check out pics in the Yam Jam photo album!

Kobe: "We are all called to be saints and everyone’s path to follow Christ is unique and exceptional. My faith journey was jump-started by my wife when I met her in Kansas." From the love of Kate and her family, to a skeptic in RCIA, to Plano, see where Kolbe's path has taken him. Kate: "I was comfortable in my home parish in Kansas. [Not only was I a cradle Catholic, but my parents were involved in almost every aspect of the church.] I knew every parishioner by their first name and could recognize new families straight away. However, God has a way of knowing when it’s time for us to grow and get outside of our comfort zone." How did this country Kansas girl end up in Plano? What did God have in store for her? Read on...

"There are several verses in the Bible that I truly love and inspire me.  They are:  Matthew 25:40 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me' and Joshua 24:15' as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord'." These verses, along with Denny's upbringing have made him a champion for the poor and downtrodden. Living out the Catholic Social Teachings he uses his talents through Corporal Works of Mercy in his involvement in ministry at Seton. Read more...

"I grew up here in Plano at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as a cradle Catholic. I can remember Msgr. Petter playing his harmonica every Christmas, all the Sunday morning classes, and the nights spent growing in fellowship at CREW. All through my last years of high school, faith had been automatic, no real effort had been put in." How did Joshua learn the importance of faith as a compass rather than just something he did? "When school started the first fall after we moved here [12 years ago], I was at the bus stop when my neighbor said that her son would not be able to attend faith formation that year if they couldn’t find two people to teach his 5th grade class. For some reason (now I’m 100% positive it was the Holy Spirit), I offered to help her teach. I had never taught faith formation before, but I figured that it would be a great way to get involved in the parish." Where has the Holy Spirit led her since? Find out...

[After being transferred to Plano from Collierville, TN] "we were led to SEAS; attended our first Mass on Thanksgiving. The Mass was a new experience of magnitude, impact, and singing. People in front of us greeted us with the sign of peace. We stated we just moved here from TN. They were friendly and happily welcomed us to Seton; we were overwhelmed with kindness. It was at that moment that SEAS became our new church." Read how this move became part of God's plan for her life.
